Care and maintenance of your Vinyl Windows and Frames
One of the best features of vinyl windows is their ease of maintenance. In fact, vinyl windows and doors are the closest to a maintenance-free product that you can find among exterior building products.
Glass Cleaning
- It is best to use a soft cloth or ordinary soft brush and a mixture of mild dish soap and water. Once finished, rinse with clear water and wipe dry.
- Never use any of the following products on your windows or patio doors:
- Razor blades, knifes or any kind of abrasive pads
- Razor blades, knifes or any kind of abrasive pads
- Petroleum-based cleaners or chemicals. These may cause damage to the glass surface or the insulating seal.
- Any mildly abrasive cleaners (Ajax, etc.). Any kind of abrasive materials could have a negative effect on the surface of glass and/or window frames.
Frame Cleaning
- The same maintenance tips apply to washing your window or patio door frames as glass.
- Wash window and patio door frames with only mild soap and water. Wipe dry once finished.
