Wood Windows

A premium look that's worth understanding before you buy. Here's what wood offers, how it compares, and the lines we install across the Bay Area.

The warmth only real wood brings

Wood is the warmest, most classic look in windows — the kind of detail that makes a Craftsman, Victorian or custom home feel finished. It is a real investment in material and craftsmanship, and it is the only frame you can paint or stain to any color, now or years down the road.

  • Warmest, most timeless look
  • A natural insulator — excellent efficiency
  • Paint or stain to any color
  • Real grain and a premium feel

Common questions

Do wood windows need a lot of maintenance?

Factory-clad wood (aluminum or fiberglass outside, wood inside) needs very little upkeep. Bare interior wood may want a repaint or restain every several years if you want a fresh color.

Are wood windows energy-efficient?

Yes — wood insulates naturally, and with dual-pane Low-E glass it holds up great in our climate. When you compare, look at the ENERGY STAR rating and the NFRC label on the sticker — that is the apples-to-apples way to compare.

How much do wood windows cost?

Wood sits at the top of the range — you pay for the look and the real material, not just the glass. We come out, measure, and hand you a written price, and there is financing if you would rather spread it out.

Can I paint or stain wood windows?

Yes — one of wood's biggest advantages. Match any trim or color, and refinish later if your style changes.

How long do wood windows last?

Properly cared for — and clad versions especially — wood windows last for decades.
